The Polish Air Force Institute of Technology and PZL Mielec are offering to modernise some of the service’s 111 TS-11 Iskra trainers to prepare pilots for the Lockheed Martin F-16. A technology demonstrator of the TS-11F will fly early next year under a project worth around 8 million zlotys ($2.5 million). The proposed upgrade comprises the integration of multifunction and head-up displays and modern ejection seats and may also include a new engine.
