There's a stand in the east hall (E842) that's driving visitors round the bend. Trade Air Europe's largest specialist in supporting corporate jet operators worldwide has rigged up a Scalextric system to attract people who feel the need for speed.

The model car racing game was the brainchild of company director Naomi Webb, who said: "Airshows are normally quite serious events, so I decided to bring something to the stand that was fun to do.

"We are going to be timing people who race the model cars and the person who clocks up the quickest lap time gets to keep the whole set."

She added: "We are here at Dubai because we have lots of customers in the Middle East and it's only right to support them."

Trade Air offers customers a 24-hour telephone service, sending spares to any part of the world.
