Japan Airlines (JAL) has unveiled its new livery on a Boeing 767-300ER in Tokyo, following last month's announcement that it would operate with a new logo as it seeks to return to profitability.
The Oneworld carrier filed for bankruptcy protection last year after it incurred severe losses. Its new livery, showing JAL's new crane logo, was unveiled by JAL's group president Masaru Onishi yesterday at JAL's maintenance base.
The aircraft took off yesterday on a commemorative flight from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to Kushiro in northern Hokkaido for a one-day tour organised by JAL. It will operate its first scheduled commercial flight tomorrow, when it flies to Beijing from Tokyo Haneda, says JAL.
