Japan Airlines has confirmed it is to order three Boeing 767-300ER freighters and three additional 767-300ER passenger aircraft (Flight International, 28 June–4 July). The deal comes as a major boost to Boeing’s efforts to sustain the 767 production line. The new aircraft will be delivered in 2007 and 2008 and be powered by General Electric CF6-80C2 engines.
