Kuwaiti budget carrier Jazeera Airways is to begin operating to Dubai's new airport, Al-Maktoum International, from the end of October.
It will become one of the first airlines to use the facility, located in the Dubai World Central complex, following its recent clearance for passenger services.
Jazeera will operate twice-weekly to Al-Maktoum from Kuwait City. The airline exclusively uses Airbus A320s.
It says the new route "complements" its flights to the regular Dubai International hub, which it will continue to serve.
"The new airport offers an easy and seamless airport experience," says Jazeera vice-president of ground operations and product Ali Fairooz, adding that the extra services give its passengers a "choice".
Al-Maktoum was previously only approved for cargo operations. Its masterplan involves developing into the world's largest airport, capable of handling 160 million passengers annually.
