Indian carrier Jet Airways will launch a daily service to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates from Kochi, in the South Indian state of Kerala, from 1 September.
The airline says that it will operate a Boeing 737-800 on the route, which is its fourth to the Gulf region from Kochi after daily services to Doha, Kuwait City and Muscat.
This follows the launch of Jet's Hyderabad-Dubai sector on August 16, and is the airline's eighth daily service to the UAE from India. It also flies twice daily to Dubai from Mumbai, daily to Dubai from Delhi and Chennai, and has daily services to Abu Dhabi from Delhi and Mumbai.
Jet has been increasing its services to the Gulf region over the last few years and plans to begin services to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia from August.
