Swiss business aviation services company Jet Aviation has applied for a Hong Kong air operators' certificate to base a Bombardier Global Express business jet at the city's international airport.

Jet Aviation has a contract to operate and maintain the aircraft on behalf of Hong Kong conglomerate Citic Pacific and its chairman Larry Yung. The aircraft is due to arrive in Hong Kong next month, say industry sources. The Civil Aviation Department confirms it is processing the AOC application.

Jet Aviation already operates five Global Express aircraft, along with seven Gulfstream Vs, 26 other Gulfstream models, 25 Dassault Falcons, 22 Bombardier Challengers, 17 Cessna Citations and two Boeing Business Jets.
