Vienna-based charter operator JetAlliance has ordered 25 Cessna Citations valued at $280 million, it was announced here this morning.

The order comprises one CJ1+, six CJ2+, five CJ3, three XLS+, a Sovereign, two Citation X and seven Mustangs, to be delivered in 2009 and 2010. “These aircraft will be used to further extend our reach into eastern and central Europe,” JetAlliance chief executive Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer said today.

JetAlliance is the third largest charter operator in Europe and an authorised Cessna sales representative.

Cessna delivered 307 Citations last year, out of a total output of 1,239 aircraft. There are now nearly 5,000 Citations in service, forming the largest fleet of business aircraft from one manufacturer.
