Freight carrier Kalitta Air's cockpits are set to become less cluttered, thanks to a Class 2 Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) contract with Jeppesen announced at the show.

Jeppesen  will provide Kalitta with electronic terminal charts and a document browser, with navAero providing tBag C22 EFB hardware for the carrier's 14 Boeing 747 freighters.

"Our contract with Kalitta is a strong indicator of the emerging market for EFB retrofit solutions," says Thomas Wede, Jeppesen senior vice-president, commercial aviation services.

The electronic document browser removes paper from the flightdeck while the terminal chart viewer maintains the familiar look of Jeppesen's charts. Documents can be searched electronically, printed from the flightdeck, and zoomed in and out for readability.

Jeppesen's Data Distribution and Management (DDM) system and ground tools applications support routine updates.

Jeppesen's portfolio of products and services includes:flight information, flight operations services, international trip planning services, domestic and international fuel programmes, aviation weather services and aviation training services.
