Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has posted a 16.7% growth in passenger traffic in October.
Passenger movements increased 16.7% to 2.6 million from 2.2 million a year ago, says airport operator Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB).
International passenger movements at the country's main gateway grew 18.8% to 1.8 million from 1.5 million, while domestic passenger movements rose 12.6% to 848,656 from 753,850, says MAHB.
KLIA's cargo movements grew 11.1% to 57,533t from 51,763t, it adds.
International cargo movements increased 10.7% to 52,656t from 47,557t, while domestic cargo movements rose 15.9% to 4,877t from 4,206t.
At MAHB's 38 other airports, total passenger traffic grew 15.7% to 4.5 million from 3.9 million a year ago.
Total cargo movements increased 4.5% to 77,690t from 74,369t.
Aircraft movements at KLIA grew 7.9% to 19,731 from 17,960, while aircraft movements at the other airports rose 13.9% to 47,260 from 41,503, says MAHB.
