A Korean Air Boeing 777-300ER aircraft was forced to make a diversion to Anadyr, Russia on 2 July due to an engine problem.
The aircraft, registered HL8275, was operating as KE38 on the Chicago-Seoul Incheon route, carrying 273 passengers and 19 crew members, when the diversion was made.
An airline spokeswoman says the aircraft is still undergoing maintenance in Anadyr. It is likely to return to Seoul Incheon after maintenance work is complete.
"The cause [of the incident] will be found out after the investigation [is completed]," the spokeswoman adds.
Flightglobal's Ascend Online fleets database shows the aircraft (MSN37651) was delivered to Korean Air in June and is owned by KE Export Leasing.
