Kuwait's Wataniya Airways has selected digEcor to provide digEplayer portable in-flight entertainment devices for its premium economy- and business-class passengers.
The new media player is filled with over 300 hours of entertainment, including Hollywood movies with Arabic sub-titles, Arabic movies, Arabic and English television programming, music, music videos, and games.
"As a start, the new system will be available to guests travelling on long-haul flights to Vienna and Istanbul, with a plan to have it across the whole network in later stages. The system will be available free of charge for all guests on Wataniya Airways' premium economy guests. And while the airline's guests on 'BusinessFirst' will continue to receive their usual in-seat entertainment, the new portable media players will be available to them on European routes upon request," says Wataniya chief commercial officer Lee Shave.
Brad Heckel, president of digEcor says Wataniya is the firm's first digEplayer customer in the Middle East. "We believe that Wataniya Airways' guests will be very pleased with the new portable players and the wide range of entertainment it offers with easy to read sub-titles," he says.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
