National airports operator Airports of Thailand (AoT) has signed an agreement with 10 airlines for rebates on landing fees at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The percentage of the rebates will correspond with the increase in the number of international passengers that the airlines carry through the airport compared to the previous year, says AoT.
This does not include transit passengers and cabin crew, adds the airport operator.
The ten airlines are: Thai Airways International, Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines subsidiary JALways, Korean Air and EVA Air.
Other airlines operating at the airport can take part in the scheme and have up to 30 April to do so, says the airport's general manager Nirandra Theeranartsin.
Previously, AoT offered a 30% discount on landing fees from May 2009 and also gave a 24hr waiver on parking charges. These concessions ended at the end of 2009.
