Lockheed Martin has received a contract option worth $53 million to build an additional 26 LANTIRN targeting pods for US Navy Grumman F-14 Tomcat strike fighters. Work on the FY1999 purchase begins immediately, and is due to be completed in 2002. To date, the USN has ordered 86 LANTIRN targeting pods, including spares.
