LAN Colombia will increase the frequency of flights between Bogota and Santiago from 25 October to 12 weekly.
The airline now operates daily on the route with Boeing 767-300 aircraft, schedules in Innovata show. The five additional flights each week will lead to a 71% increase in the number of available seats on the route, says the LATAM Airlines Group subsidiary.
LAN Peru has also grown the number of flights between Bogota and Lima, and now operates three times daily between the two cities with Airbus A320 family aircraft, up from about 11 times weekly previously.
The additional flights come as LATAM's competitor Avianca deployed extra flights on the two routes in June. Avianca added a second daily flight to Santiago-Bogota for a total of 14 weekly flights. It also launched a fifth daily flight between Bogota and Lima.
