The Beechcraft Baron light piston twin has been approved for operations at London City airport. The validation was pursued by UK charter operator and Baron 58 operator Conciair Charter Services. Due to the airport's city location and extremely steep 5.5 degree approach requirements, aircraft must demonstrate the necessary performance capabilities, including a 7.5 degree approach, and gain approval both from the European Aviation Safety Agency and London City to use the airport, says Hawker Beechcraft.
