Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) is supporting the Australian College of Kuwait to introduce EASA-accredited training programmes for maintenance technicians in the Gulf state.
The Kuwait-based college of higher education - which is affiliated with similar institutions in Australia and Canada - has signed a cooperation agreement with the training arm of German MRO group Lufthansa Technik.
LTT says that it will provide concepts for the basic training programme for B1 and B2 technicians, train the school's instructors, give access to computer-based training tools, and carry out the examinations for EASA's Part-66 basic training modules.
Vishy Karri, the college's president, says that the cooperation will help to build-up "much-needed quality aviation education" in Kuwait, while LTT's chief commercial officer, Holger Beck, calls the partnership a "first step" for the company in the Middle East region.
