Rolls-Royce-owned Allison Engine has selected Lucas Aerospace to supply the lift- fan drive shaft for Lockheed Martin's Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) concept development aircraft. Allison is supplying the lift fan for the aircraft. The value of the contract has not been disclosed. Lucas Aerospace is also supplying the lift-fan clutch-control system on the Lockheed Martin JSF contender.
