Lufthansa Technik has extended two maintenance contracts with Emirates Airlines and Oman Air at the MRO Middle East exhibition in Dubai.
The Dubai-based carrier signed a two-year contract with the German MRO provider covering the centre main landing gears of eight Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The components will be serviced at the company's overhaul shop in Hamburg.
The contract follows an existing landing gear agreement with Emirates for 21 Boeing 777-200, -200ER and 300, which Lufthansa Technik has been servicing at its UK facility, formerly Hawker Pacific UK, since 2005. The 777 contract expires in 2013.

Oman Air has again signed up Lufthansa Technik to provide C checks for its 15 737NGs at the MRO company's facility in Budapest. A similar programme was in place last year.
The new contract includes modification to the aircraft communications addressing and reporting system on nine of the aircraft.
Walter Heerdt, senior vice president marketing and sales at Lufthansa Technik, emphasised that the two companies are still talking about possible wider cooperation on the back of a letter of intent, which was signed in 2009 and included plans for a widebody hangar in Muscat that was to be completed in 2012.
