Canada's WestJet has contracted Lufthansa Technik (LHT) to provide component support for the Bombardier Q400 turboprop fleet of new regional arm Encore.
The airline signed a multi-year total support agreement spanning equipment repair and spare part pool access, says LHT.
The German MRO provider will also deliver logistics services and set up a stock of Q400 components in North America.
WestJet Encore started scheduled operations on 24 June, and Flightglobal's Ascend Online database lists two Q400s in its active fleet. But the carrier has 18 more on firm order, and holds options for a further 25.
