Lynton Group aims to have restructuring plans in place next month, following its latest acquisition in the general aviation market. It has become "a major equity partner" in Stratford, Connecticut-based corporate jet charter and management company Premier Aviation. Lynton has not released purchase details.

Premier is the fourth acquisition by Morristown, New Jersey-based Lynton over the past 15 months. In December 1997 Lynton bought Magec Aviation, a fixed-base operator at London Luton Airport, from GEC. The Morristown operation of JetSystems followed, and UK charter and maintenance company Air Hanson joined the Lynton Group in September last year.

Lynton gains Premier's US Federal Aviation Administration certificate for fixed-wing and helicopter operations.
