The CFM56 is bringing a world of virtual reality to Snecma to help maintenance and design engineers overcome problems.

Thanks to the latest 3D technology displayed on Stand D16 in Hall 2A, visitors can take a virtual walk through an engine to track individual components and see how they behave.

Viewers wearing special glasses are able to watch the complete working processes of a 3D engine. By altering the magnification they can step inside the mechanism to see individual system components.

One of the projects that has been undertaken is a virtual test to see the effects of a bird strike, to try and find a way to limit the damage they cause.
