Russia's Volga-Dnepr Technics has tentatively agreed a maintenance services pact covering work on the Sukhoi Superjet 100.

The company disclosed the agreement with marketing operation Superjet International - which takes the form of a letter of intent - at the MAKS Moscow air show.

Volga-Dnepr is establishing a maintenance and overhaul facility at Ulyanovsk, part of an extensive expansion plan for the site.

Superjet International said the services agreement "confirms the partnership" between the two sides, which will bring Volga-Dnepr Technics into its authorised maintenance, repair and operations network for the twinjet.

Volga-Dnepr started a programme in 2008 to create its own network of certified service stations, dedicated to repairing both Russian-built and foreign types.

This network includes a division at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport, which conducts servicing on Boeing 747s.

The company also has stations in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, which handles Antonov An-124s, Ilyushin Il-76s, and regional Antonov turboprops.

Volga-Dnepr has also been active in Leipzig, Germany.
