Manhattan Jet Charter showed off its newest fleet member at the Business Aircraft Park yesterday - a Beechcraft Premier 1.

Trevor Jones, managing director and chief pilot of Manhattan Jet Charter, flew the Premier 1 to the show where he was met by Brian Jones, sales and marketing director of NAC Aviation, which recently delivered the aircraft. NAC Aviation is the UK distributor of Beechcraft and Hawker.

Although Manhattan Jet Charter took delivery of the aircraft in Wichita in June the official handover was held at Farnborough yesterday. This is the first UK-registered Premier 1 and it is certified for public transport. It will be the first Premier 1 on the UK charter circuit when it goes into operation in early August.

Jones said Manhattan Jet Charter chose the Premier 1 for the size of its cabin, speed and operating economics. He said it was particularly suited for operations between London and such places as the south of France and Spain.

"We have a lot of confidence in the Raytheon Beechcraft product," he said. The company recently moved its operations to Farnborough and changed its name from Manhattan Air Ltd.
