++ American Airlines has confirmed its order for a further eight Rolls-Royce Trent 800-powered Boeing 777-200ERs, increasing its 777 order to 19. Delivery of the newly ordered aircraft will begin in 1999. Delta Air Lines has converted two options for R-R Trent 800-powered 777s.

++ Aerotec/ USA, the Florida-based distributor for Let, has delivered an L-410UVP E20 to Aeroandes, a regional operator based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A second will be delivered this month. Meanwhile Aeroeste, of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, has taken delivery of its second L-410, for use of services supporting oil companies.

++ Boeing has confirmed El Al's order for five Next Generation 737s, including two -700s and three 737-800s. Deliveries will begin in early 1999.

++ Elmo Ventures has acquired an ex-TWA Lockheed L-1011 TriStar 1 for spare parts.

++ Polar Air Cargo has taken delivery of an ex-Southern Air Transport Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7Q-powered Boeing 747-200F following overhaul, in a deal arranged by Fortis Aviation.

++ Qantas has placed a firm order for a single Bombardier Dash 8-200 for delivery in April. The aircraft will be operated by Qantas' Brisbane based subsidiary Sunstate Airlines, joining four Dash 8s and replacing a Shorts 360.

++ The Dublin based financial services company Pembroke Capital has received the first of 12 Boeing 737s it has on order. The first aircraft, a 737-300, will enter service with Sobelair on a five-year operating lease. Deliveries of the remaining aircraft, three 737-500s and eight 737-700s, will continue through to May 1999.

++ Aviation Systems International has purchased an ex-Ratioflug Airbus A300B2 which it is offering for sale or lease.

++ British Aerospace Asset Management-Jets (AMJ) is to remarket five BAe 146-300s previously operated by Thai Airways International. AMJ will broker the aircraft, offered for sale only, for Gibraltar-based aircraft investment company FBM Jet Engine Support.
