-Emery Worldwide has confirmed its plans to add five ex-Continental Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 freighters, to replace DC-8 freighters. The aircraft will be delivered on seven-year leases from Pegasus Capital, between late 1998 and the end of 2000.

-As part of its deal to acquire 22 Beech 1900Ds from Mesa Air Group, Great Lakes Aviation has disposed of 11 Beech 1900C1s to Raytheon Aircraft.

-Gulf Air has completed the sale and lease back of four Boeing 767-300ERs to new Middle Eastern leasing company Oasis Leasing.

-Lufthansa Cargo has taken delivery of its first two General Electric CF6-80C2-powered Boeing MD-11 freighters. The airline will take a further six MD-11Fs by the end of 1999 and has three options for delivery in 2000.

-All Nippon Airways has taken delivery of the first of nine Pratt & Whitney PW4090-powered Boeing 777-300s.

-Princess Airlines is a new Greek airline which is to launch operations with an ex-Garuda Boeing 737-300 leased from AAR Aircraft.

-Transaer has acquired an ex-Dragonair Airbus A320 leased from International Lease Finance. The aircraft is being wet-leased to Nouvelair of Tunisia.

-Boeing is accelerating delivery of two 747-400 freighters for Atlas Air, which will see five aircraft delivered this year, four in 1999, and one in 2000. The airline has options on a further 10 aircraft.

-Flight International's sister on-line service Air Transport Intelligence reports that Iberia has concluded a deal with International Lease Finance for the lease of 16 new A320 family aircraft, which are in addition to the 50 A320/A321 orders recently placed with Airbus. The leased aircraft will be delivered in the interim to enable the airline to accelerate the phase-out of its short haul fleet.

-Lauda Air has wet-leased a 737-400 from Malaysia Airlines to cover for late deliveries of two 737-800s.

-Transavia has taken delivery of its first 737-800, two months late.
