-International Lease Finance (ILFC) has placed two new Boeing 777-200ERs with Varig Brazil. The two General Electric GE90-powered aircraft will be delivered in March and April 2000 on 10-year leases with extension options.

-The last Fokker 70 built has been delivered to Austria's Tyrolean Airways. The aircraft was originally ordered by Indonesia's Sempati.

-Aeropostal has leased two International Aero Engines V2500-powered Airbus A320s from TransAer for six months.

-China Southwest Airlines has received the first of three Airbus A340-300s, with the second due to be delivered soon.

-Blue Panorama, the charter airline set up by Italian tour operator Astra Travel, will launch operations next month with an ex-Hapag Lloyd Boeing 737-400 leased from Indigo. The airline will fly to points in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. A second 737-400 will arrive in April.

-TransAer has placed two Airbus A320s with Cubana on wet lease, to replace Russian-built aircraft on short and medium haul routes. ++Swedish charter airline Novair will take two Boeing 737-800s from GATX 737-800 Partners for delivery in January and April next year.

-Emery Worldwide is leasing a Boeing MD-11 from World Airways to operate nightly round trips between Brussels, Belgium and Dayton, Ohio.

-Air Afrique has leased two ex-TEA Switzerland Boeing 737-300s from International Lease Finance.

-American Eagle has taken up eight of its 25 options for the Embraer RJ-145, for delivery between late 1999 and early 2000. The deal boosts its firm orders to 50, of which 16 have been delivered.

-Virgin Atlantic has concluded a deal with GE Capital Aviation Services to add two new CFM56-powered A320s early in the second quarter of 1999 for its Virgin Sun charter division. The airline will launch European charter services in May 1999 from Manchester and Gatwick.
