Polar Air Cargo has introduced two additional Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7Q-powered 747-200 freighters and retired one of its older747-100s. Cathay Pacific has ordered two additional Rolls-Royce RB211-524H-powered Boeing 747-400 freighters, for delivery in September 2000 and August 2001. The Hong Kong-based carrier has also concluded its lease deal with Air China for three Airbus A340-300s. The aircraft will enter service later this quarter on two-year leases with an extension option. British Airways' London Gatwick feeder CityFlyer Express has placed orders for two additional British Aerospace Avro RJ100s for delivery in the first half of 2000, plus an option on a third. Air Nippon, the regional division of All Nippon Airways, has placed firm orders for three Bombardier Dash 8 Q300 turboprops for services from Tokyo Haneda airport and nearby islands, and around Hokkaido. Aero Lloyd has ordered one additional Airbus A320 and two A321-200s. The International Aero Engines V2500-powered aircraft will be delivered in 2001. Air Europa Express has leased four additional BAe ATPs from the manufacturer, taking its fleet of the type to 16 aircraft. Augsburg Airways has converted options on two additional Dash 8 Q400s. Intercapital Aviation is the new UK-based leasing company acquiring up to 40 Lockheed L-1011 TriStar 1s from Delta for cargo conversion (Flight International, 13-19 October). Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has signed an agreement with Singapore Aircraft Leasing (SALE) to sell and lease back two year-old Rolls-Royce Trent 800-powered Boeing 777-200ERs, and lease two new aircraft in 2001. The four leases have 11-12 year terms. The deal includes a contract for SALE to sell two Pratt & Whitney-powered Boeing 747-400s on behalf of MAS. UK regional carrier Eastern Airways has leased two additional Britsh Aerospace Jetstream J32s from BAe's Asset Management leasing division.
