Brazilian grand prix driver Felipe Massa brought a touch of glamour to Piaggio Aero’s stand when he visited EBACE yesterday afternoon.

The Piaggio P180 Avanti II (on show in EBACE’s static park) is known as the “Ferrari of the skies” so it was appropriate that Massa – who will be going all out to win Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix in his Ferrari F2007 F1 car – should be on hand to boost the Italian aircraft’s marketing efforts.

Speaking exclusively to Flight Evening News yesterday, Massa said that he was really enjoying his first visit to EBACE. “I have a pilot’s licence and I fly the Ferrari team’s Avanti II at least once a week if my schedule allows it.  It’s a fantastic aircraft to fly and I love the performance and comfort.”

*The latest star in the Piaggio firmament – Flight International’s cutaway artist Tim Hall - will visit the Italian company’s stand tomorrow morning to sign copies of his brilliant rendition of the P180 Avanti II that appears in this week’s edition of the magazine.
