Landing-gear manufacturer Hydromash has completed tests on the Irkut MC-21’s undercarriage ahead of the type’s first flight.
The landing-gear structure is manufactured from high-strength steel and titanium alloys, keeping it to 1.55t compared with a 70t maximum take-off weight, says the Russian firm.
Designed and built at a plant in Nizhny Novgorod, the landing-gear is designed for 30,000 cycles.
Hydromash says the deployment system has triple redundancy including two independent hydraulic circuits and a gravity-drop capability.
