McDonnell Douglas of St Louis, Missouri, has appointed Harold Coyle vice-president for corporate ethics and Fred Whiteford executive assistant to the chief executive. Coyle served as staff director and secretary of the management councils as well as assisting the corporation's chairman, John McDonnell. Whiteford served as director of strategic planning. Thomas Williams, director of communications, has been promoted to the new post of vice-president of communications and special events. Replacing Williams and promoted to vice-president of corporate communications, is Lawrence McCracken. He has been director of communications for the C-17 military transport programme at Long Beach, California.
