Canada-based completions, refurbishment and maintenance specialist Flying Colours has received confirmation of its first Saudi Arabia-registered aircraft maintenance project.
Scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2013, the Bombardier Challenger 604 will undergo a variety of major inspections and service bulletins as well as interior refurbishment at Flying Colours' facility in Peterborough, Ontario.
Flying Colours received the required maintenance approvals from the Riyadh-based General Authority of Civil Aviation in September and is now permitted to carry out continuous airworthiness and line maintenance on aircraft registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This first maintenance order from the country follows hard on the heels of the news that Bombardier has appointed Flying Colours, and subsidiary US-based JetCorp Technical Services, as authorised service facilities for Learjet and Challenger business jets.
"Attendance at exhibitions like MEBA means we can communicate our updated approvals status with existing clients and inform potential clients about the benefits of utilising our facilities," says Sean Gillespie, executive vice-president of Flying Colours.
"The Middle East is an extremely important region for us and we anticipate a serious growth in business from this region following the recent Bombardier ASF approval," he adds.
