US firm Lektro is displaying its barless electric tow vehicle at the show. The vehicle does not use any towbars and transfers the weight of the aircraft's nose to its drive wheels, providing greater traction.
The patented universal cradle holds the aircraft's front wheel, eliminating tyre ploughing and slippage on ice. This cradle, adds the company, adapts to every aircraft on the market.
The Lektro is powered by a zero-emissions electric motor, and the smooth acceleration eliminates and jarring effects and jerking damage associated with other tugs.
