Northrop Grumman has bought Ryan Aeronautical - a manufacturer of target drones and unmanned air vehicles - from Allegheny Teledyne for $140 million. The business will move its base to San Diego, California, and will be used to develop Northrop's unmanned technology programmes. Allegheny Teledyne has also completed the sale of its McCormick Selph Ordnance pyrotechnic systems business to McCormick Selph Inc, and has sold Drinkware, another non-core asset. Rockwell Collins is to acquire avionics spare parts supplier Interlade, based near its own Iowa headquarters, as it seeks to expand its Collins Aviation Services division. Neuvant Aerospace has been formed by the merger of aerostructures suppliers Allfab Aerospace, Mamco Manufacturing and Quality Aluminium Forging (QAF). Alistar Capital, controlling shareholder in Washington-based Allfab, will hold the majority interest in Neuvant. Boeing has sold its Sunnyvale, California-based ARGOSystems electronic warfare unit to San Diego-located Condor Systems, saying it no longer regards it as a core business. Toronto-based Derlan Industries has sold Massachusetts-based power supply subsidiary K and M Electronics to ITT Industries for $36.5 million, and its remaining Californian assets to Trig Holding. Disposal of Derlan's discontinued operations began last November and has now raised $150 million - exceeding a $125 million target. Eaton is to sell its Engineered Fasteners business to New Jersey-based TransTechnology for $173 million cash as part of moves aimed at offsetting the cost of its Aeroquip-Vickers acquisition. Denmark's DAO Aviation and Scandinavian Avionics have jointly acquired Danish Aerotech, one of their partners in the four-company Danish Aviation Group. Aerotech was previously owned by FLS Aerospace Holding.
