Reorganisation MAIR Holdings subsidiary Mesaba Aviation, which has struggled under Northwest Airlines’ court-protected reorganisation, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The Northwest feeder is to lose a large part of its fleet under its 27.8%-shareholder’s restructuring, and the US major has missed scheduled payments for services. Northwest has also indicated that it will establish a new regional feeder to operate large regional jets, effectively ending Mesaba’s chance to expand its feeder contract.
