Mexican authorities have certificated the Sukhoi Superjet 100 ahead of deliveries to local carrier Interjet later this year.
The Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil provided a type certificate validation to Sukhoi's civil aircraft division on 16 April, the airframer states.
"This document confirms the compliance of the [Superjet] to the certification requirements of the Mexican aviation authority and allows the delivery and operations of aircraft of such a type in Mexico without limitations," it adds.
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft first vice-president for development and certification Igor Vinogradov says the confirmation is "important" for the delivery to Interjet, which has 15 Superjets on order. The first will arrive at the end of this year.
