Bangladesh is to dispose of eight RSK MiG-29s purchased by the previous government. Prime Minister Khalida Zia says the south Asian country wants to sell the Russian-made fighters "because it cannot afford the $1 billion a year needed for spare parts and maintenance". Meanwhile, India is to retire its 110 or so MikoyanMiG-23s and five MiG-25s in a move to reduce the number of types operated.
