Australian regional airline and charter operator Macair Airlines has won a five-year, A$20 million ($14.6 million) contract to operate charter services to BHP Billiton's Cannington silver and lead mine in Queensland. Macair, which has operated charters for the mine for 14 years, won the latest contract after a tender process. The operator will add a Saab 2000 turboprop to its fleet of two Saab 340Bs and 11 Fairchild Metro 23s to service the contract.
