Cessna plans to release aircraft collision avoidance systems ACAS 2 and diversity Mode S transponder service bulletins in the second quarter, in support of European mandates. All turbine-powered aircraft operating in Europe, with a maximum take-off weight of more than 5,700kg (12,500lb) or seating for between 19 and 30 passengers, must have ACAS 2 installed by 1 January 2005. All turbine-powered aircraft operating in Europe, regardless of weight or country registration, must have Mode-S elementary surveillance transponders by 31 March 2005.
