Bombardier has sold a Challenger 604 and Global Express to a new customer in Hong Kong as demand for business jets soars in the former British colony.

Industry sources say the 604 will be delivered in the first quarter of 2006 and the Global Express in early 2007. They say the customer is now evaluating bids from several companies interested in managing the aircraft, including Jet Aviation in Hong Kong and local corporate jet operator Metrojet.

The two new acquisitions will ensure there are at least nine business jets registered in Hong Kong by early 2007. Metrojet now operates four Gulfstream G200s and one G450, two of which were just delivered last month, while Jet Aviation manages one Global Express.
