Aircraft Recycling International (ARI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Honeywell Aerospace to collaborate in the growth of ARI unit China Aircraft Disassembly Centre (CADC) in Harbin, China.
"The parties shall collaborate and develop repair and maintenance services at the CADC facility to support regional demand, and to promote their brand equity," say ARI and Honeywell in a joint-statement.
The arrangement will also see ARI and Honeywell jointly explore and discuss used aircraft solutions for mutual benefit and resource sharing.
“Together with our two aircraft recycling platforms, namely UAM in the US and CADC in Harbin, ARI will be able to echo the global demand for mid-to-late life aircraft asset management. The alliance with... Honeywell, is going to drive new impetus to the future development of both parties," says Christina Ng, ARI's deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer.
ARI's facility in Harbin is in the final stages of construction. It will cater for growing demand for teardown, MRO and other aircraft services in China.
The MoU signing follows ARI's recent acquisition of Memphis-based aviation services company Universal Asset Management (UAM) in March.
ARI said this acquisition will see UAM take responsibility for the two companies’ aircraft recycling and part distribution business overseas, and consolidate its role as “full value-chain aircraft solutions provider.”
ARI is part of the Hong Kong-listed China Aircraft Leasing Group.
