Taiwan MRO provider Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp (EGAT) inaugurated its fourth hangar at Taipei Taoyuan International airport on 17 July
In a statement, the company states that the facility is 136 metres wide, 90 metres in length and 32.5 metres in height. It is able to simultaneously accommodate two widebody aircraft for airframe maintenance and conversions.
The hangar will also be used for Boeing 767-300 passenger-to-freighter conversions, which will begin in November.
Construction costs totaled around NT$1.5 billion ($49.7 million), with the facility and maintenance systems having received certification from civil aviation authorities in Taiwan, the United States and Japan.
"The inauguration of the fourth hangar will effectively solve the company’s hangar space shortage," says EGAT.
