Two Chinese carriers have picked Pratt & Whitney (P&W) for engine maintenance of their narrowbody fleet.
China Eastern Airlines signed for maintenance of its V2500 engines, which power some of its fleet of A319, A320 and A321s. P&W did not specify the duration of the agreement.
Cirium’s fleets data indicates China Eastern has 85 V2500-powered aircraft: five A319s, 50 A320s, as well as 30 A321s.
China Southern inked a 12-year agreement for the maintenance of its GTF engines that power some of its Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
Fleets data shows that the carrier operates seven A320neos, and 17 A321neos with GTF engines.
Both agreements come under P&W’s EngineWise services, and the engine manufacturer did not state the value of both contracts.
