Airbus and International Aero Engines are believed to have sealed a major multi-billion-dollar deal with three Latin American airlines for 100 A319/A320/A321s equipped with the V2500 turbofan.

LanChile of Chile, Taca of El Salvador and TAM of Brazil have joined forces for this particular purchase in an effort to get a better deal based on a larger order than any of the airlines could have placed individually.

While neither Airbus nor IAE are making comment, sources say the airlines have completed their selection.

The deal is also believed to include 100 options.
