Scandinavian Airlines passengers will be able to book seats in different classes on outward and return legs in the latest development in the carrier’s Turnaround restructuring programme. The carrier now offers fully flexible one-way fares on all domestic and European services apart from Germany, which will have to wait until agreement on fare harmonisation is reached with Star Alliance and joint venture partner Lufthansa. In a further bid to cut costs SAS has renegotiated its distribution contracts with Amadeus, Cendant (Galileo), Sabre and Worldspan, which will give the global distribution system providers continued access to all SAS content, while allowing the carrier to reduce its distribution costs.
