Reims Aviation Industries (Outdoor 62) is promoting the full multi-mission capability of its F406 twin turboprop. The F406 special missions and target towing option offers real time measurement of miss distance between supersonic projectiles and the sleeve target.

Thanks to a fully removable target-towing system and the latest avionics, the F406 can be used in a variety of missions; including VIP and passenger transport, freight operations, multi-engine training, and maritime surveillance.

The F406 special missions Polmar 3 surveillance aircraft can track polluting ships, day and night, with a variety of sensors.

A side-looking airborne radar (SLAR) or lateral scanning radar can detect oil slicks, and an IR/UV scanner is used for oil slick mapping.

A very low light level (VLLL) camera can be deployed around the clock to record polluting ships.

Equipped with a comprehensive communications package the F406 Polmar 3 can accommodate a crew of three for a mission range of more than five hours.
