Gulfstream has delivered the first of two Gulfstream IV-MPA multi-purpose aircraft to its Japanese agent, Okura, for onward delivery to the Japan Air Self-Defence Force (JASDF) early in 1997. A third aircraft is in production and the company expects to deliver more than 20 GIV-MPA, worth over $300 million, to Japan over the next five years. The GIV-MPA features a large cargo door to meet the JASDF's medical-evacuation requirement.
