MRO provider Aircelle has opened a new facility in Pont-Audemer, France, giving the company capacity to develop nacelles for Airbus A320neos and A330neos.
A division of French company Safran, Aircelle says the new 4,500m2 building will complement an existing 3,000m2 facility in Pont-Audemer.
The new site will house jigs and other tooling used to perform MRO work on jet engine nacelles and will provide capacity needed to accommodate increased demand for MRO work, says Aircelle.
The site will also provide space needed to develop and produce new nacelle products, the company adds.
"The workload of Aircelle Europe Services' MRO activity has grown considerably since the company's creation in 2002, and this new facility provides additional volume needed to handle our current thrust reverser and nacelle products,” says the company’s chief executive Martin Sion.
The company says its European services division can perform MRO work on engines used to power roughly 20 different aircraft types, including business aircraft, regional aircraft and large passenger jetliners.
