Cessna warns on Citation RVSM
Cessna Aircraft is warning that hundreds of US Citation Jet owners face being restricted to lower flight levels next year due to a failure to complete reduced vertical separation minima (RVSM) upgrades.
Cessna says only about 70% of Citations are in compliance with the North American RVSM mandate that comes into force on 20 January next year.
Dassault eyes Falcon 20 successor
Dassault is considering a replacement for its out-of-production Falcon 20 mid-size business jet, but will not start serious work until the second half of 2005 when development of the Falcon 7X is complete.
Other possible programmes are the first derivative of the 7X, and involvement in a supersonic business jet.
NBAA hopes for record attendance in Las Vegas
As the convention neared its end, the NBAA was optimistic of setting a new attendance record. With a day still to go, the organisers reported 30,179 attendees – just short of the record set in 1998 of 31,665 visitors.
Adam Aircraft signs deal for 100 A700s
Adam Aircraft Industries is claiming a "handshake" deal with an unidentified fractional ownership scheme for 100 of its A700 Adam jets.
But the manufacturer faces a lengthened certification schedule after the FAA indicated that the earlier powerplant switch and associated airframe changes meant that the type could not be considered a derivative of the A500 twin-piston.
Harrods to distribute Sikorsky and Embraer models
Harrods Aviation has announced UK and Ireland distribution deals for Sikorsky's S-76 and S-92 helicopters, and Embraer's ERJ-135-based Legacy business jet.
The company is spending some $12 million at its London Luton Airport base where it will build a second hangar with increased ramp area to support growing demand for business aviation.
Three more Avantis to get Primus Epic cockpit
T-G Aviation of Ontario has won three more orders from US corporate operators for the Honeywell Primus Epic avionics upgrade to the Piaggio Avanti.
The company says it is four weeks away from first flight of the modified aircraft.
