Aircell is introducing its Gogo Vision streaming in-flight entertainment system for the business aviation market after rolling it out on hundreds of American Airlines over the past two years.
To provide this content to business aviation customers, the connectivity provider is also introducing the Gogo Cloud service. When these operators land at certain FBOs, the aircraft will automatically update with the latest content over a wi-fi signal. The high-speed upload allows a 30-minute television show to be uploaded in less than a minute.
Aircell has named Orlando-based Signature Flight Support (booth 3505) as the FBO that will launch the service, and held a signing ceremony at the show this morning to celebrate the new technology.
“Gogo Cloud will be a great addition to Signature Flight Support’s world-class customer experience,” says Maria Sastre, president and chief operating officer of Signature Flight Support. “Business aircraft can get their in-flight entertainment updates and all their flight support services needs met in a single stop. We’re well underway with Gogo Cloud deployment – three facilities are already up and running, including our FBO at McCarran International right here in Las Vegas. We look forward to additional locations being added to the system in 2014 starting with key business and resort locations.”
